Diabscreen Kerala Free Diabetes Screening Awareness and Detection camp was organized by P.Kesavadev Trust in association with Ernakulam District Residence Associations Apex Council (EDRAAC) at Chotanikkara Government V.H.S School on Jan 22, 2012. The camp saw participation of over 140 patients where free blood glucose, cholesterol and HbA1c were performed along with anthropometric measurements.

Dr.Sunil Mathai, IMA Blood Bank Secretary, Gastroenterologist, Medical Trust inaugurated the program.
Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev in his one hour lecture elaborated on the importance of creating awareness about diabetes and the ways of preventing the metabolic syndrome. The diabetes awareness lecture was followed by diabetes diet talk by Neethu Annie Ajai, Dietitian and Unit Head, JDC Kochi. Free medical advice was given by Dr.Jothydev and Dr. Divya Haridas, Consultant, JDC Kochi.

Free consultation and medications were provided to the patients. As in any other Diabscreen Kerala camp subjects were directed to continue treatment with their local physicians.

Ms.Sunitha Jothydev, Executive Director, JDC Group of Institutions supervised the proceedings. Mr. Pavitraraj, Head of Operations, JDC Kochi Unit coordinated the activities of the camp.

Mr.K.Mohanan, President, EDRAAC chaired the session. Mr.P.C.Ajith kumar, Secretary, EDRAAC offered a warm welcome to the gathering
