Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev delivered a 30 minutes lecture on the topic 'An update on technologies & devices in diabetes' at Technology Update CME at Taj Vivanta on 17th November 2011. He elaborated on the various innovative technologies in diabetes management including insulin pumps, CGM and the newer options which can be offered in diabetes treatment. The question answer session included the cost involved in doing a CGM and the importance of a diabetes team in interpreting the outcome. An update on 'Upcoming Insulins' was presented by Dr. Arun Shankar, Consultant, JDC where the different regimens of insulins and the newer insulins like Degludec, Degludec Plus, Viaject etc. were discussed. The launch of 'Novopen 4' was made by Dr.Hari P.N, Oncologist, Wisconsin,USA by handing over the pen to Prof. Dr. Madhusudanan. Dr. Hari P.N also made an amazing speech on the importance of the need to be at par with the latest technologies in the field of diabetes and congratulated Dr. Jothydev for his research presentations at the ADA.The CME was attended upon by more than 100 doctors from various specialities.
