The Advances in Diabetes, Obesity, Research & Endocrinology hosted a virtual CME on 19 December 2020. Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev was the speaker of the session 'Role of technology in insulin therapy' chaired by Dr.S.R Aravind. The topic of the lecture was, 'Role of digital therapeutics in basal insulin initiation and intensification'. He spoke on "Insulia", an US FDA approved platform for basal insulin titration controlled by the doctor but executed by the patient in his own mobile phone. The talk was followed by a highly intellectual debate on the topic 'Mobile app based patient support system for basal insulin intensification- is it the need of the hour' by three stalwarts: Dr.Krishna Seshadri, who talked for the topic, Dr.Aravind Sosale, who talked against the topic and Dr.Shashank R Joshi, moderator of the debate.
