Diabscreen Kerala is a major diabetes awareness project of P.Kesavadev Trust. The Diabscreen Kerala team, headed by Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev, conducts diabetes awareness, prevention, and treatment programs at various geographical locations in collaboration with regional organizations.

Novo Nordisk annual diabetes update is a nation wide major diabetes update programme for doctors. Regional update for Kerala doctors was held this year at Munnar on August 26 and 27, 2006. Dr Anil Shinde, Medical Director of Norvo Nordisk was the master of ceremony. Regional Manager Pratap Kumar welcomed the gathering. Dr Mohan Badgandi, Head of Endocrinology at Manipal hospital, Bangalore and Dr Jothydev Kesavadev were the two speakers. Audience comprised of physicians, diabetologists, endocrinologists and other doctors from various parts of Kerala (Trivandrum, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Palai, Manjeri, Kasargode, Kannur, Kozhikode, Mananthavadi, Kochi, Thiruvalla etc) and they very actively participated in the discussions.
Dr.Jothydev spoke on "Newer Insulin Delivery Devices"
Insulin pumps are the best but still very expensive.Novopen is a cost effective option and is accurate, painless and easy to carry around.
Insulin jet injectors are not that painless; it can produce bruises and should not be used routinely.
Jothydev also spoke on new real time paradigm pump.Oral insulins are being
developed by Nobex in association with Biocon, India.
Inhaled insulins have to come to the market.Novo is working on Arex which is
a liquid formulation and can deliver insulin in Arex units and helps in fine
