Diabscreen Kerala is a major diabetes awareness project of P.Kesavadev Trust. The Diabscreen Kerala team, headed by Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev, conducts diabetes awareness, prevention, and treatment programs at various geographical locations in collaboration with regional organizations.

JPEF in association with P.Kesavadev Trust and IMA AMS, hosted world diabetes month JPEF Mini CME, 'GLP Before Insulin: Education to protect tomorrow' on 22nd November 2022 at Residency Towers, Trivandrum. The program was set off by Ms.Gopika Krishnan (Director, Academics and Research, JDC) with a welcome speech. The scientific session began with a lecture on 'CGM, through the eyes of a GP' by Dr.Anandrajan (General Physician, Trivandrum). The academic event was inaugurated by Dr.Brij Mohan Makkar, President, National RSSDI. Subsequently, Dr.Arun Shankar (Executive Committee Member, Kerala RSSDI; Medical Director, JDC) gave a brief introduction on obesity, diabetes, and GLP1. Dr.Soumya S (Consultant Endocrinologist, IID Trivandrum) spoke on The Syndemic of Diabetes With Obesity: Taking an Upstream Approach With OralSemaglutide. Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev (Vice-president, Kerala RSSDI) lectured on Assessment of Obesity. The final scientific session was a panel discussion moderated by Dr.Sunil Prasobh P (Professor, Medicine, Government Medical College, Kollam) on the topic GLP-1 RA Before insulin: Guidelines and Practical Experiences So Far. The expert panelists included Dr.Sumesh Raj (Professor, Internal Medicine, Sree Gokulam Medical College), Dr.Ajith Kumar S (Joint Secretary, RSSDI), Dr.Tittu Oommen (Consultant Endocrinologist, Trivandrum), Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev, Dr.Soumya S, and Dr.Asha Ashik (Clinical Head, JDC, Kochi). The program was concluded by Dr.Arun SHankar with a vote of thanks. The event witnessed the participation of around 150 delegates including physicians, interns, and students.
