Dr Jothydev was the guest speaker at the Diabetes Update conducted at Taj Exotica, Goa on August 14, 2004. He spoke on "Diabetes in the elderly". Recognition of Geriatric syndromes and generating awareness among physicians are absolutely essential in assuring health and happiness in diabetes patients when they grow old. The recent approach to treat elderly diabetes patients based on their remaining life expectancy and sincerity of co morbid illnesses were discussed in detail.
