On 28th September 2024, the Obesity Advocacy Forum was held at the Danish Ambassador's Residence in New Delhi. The forum aimed to address evidence gaps in obesity treatment, drawing from the APAC obesity disease burden study and insights from India. The event focused on developing recommendations for the prevention, treatment, and management of obesity at both healthcare and policy levels, with the goal of drafting a white paper and forming an advocacy group to elevate obesity recognition as a disease. The panel discussion on the current obesity landscape in India featured experts Dr. Sanjay Kalra, Dr. Rajesh Khadgawat, and Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev, who shared valuable insights and evidence-based strategies for tackling obesity in India.
