The conference was inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice Devan Ramachandran of the Kerala High Court, in the presence of distinguished guests including Prof. Peter Schwarz, President of the International Diabetes Federation, Dr. Shashank Joshi (Guest of Honour), and Dr. Mohanan Kunnummal, Vice Chancellor of Kerala University and Kerala University of Health Sciences. Led by Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev (Organising Chairman), Dr. Anita Nambiar (Organising Secretary) and Dr. Anuj Maheshwari (Scientific Chair), RSSDI 2025 saw strong participation from prominent Indian diabetes leaders including Dr. Banshi Saboo, Dr. Manoj Chawla, and Dr. Sanjay Agarwal, who contributed significantly to shaping the scientific and collaborative spirit of the conference.
The academic program featured 450 speakers, 154 chairpersons, and 326 scientific abstract submissions, with 181 oral presentations, 114 poster sessions and 9 workshops, showcasing innovation, emerging clinical evidence, and research excellence from across the country. Over four days, the conference hosted podium presentations, travel grant sessions, workshops, competitive debates, and thematic symposia covering key focus areas such as digital diabetes care, GLP-1–based therapies, precision medicine, obesity and cardiovascular risk management, MASLD, gestational diabetes, and rural diabetes care strategies. Major scientific highlights included discussions on monogenic diabetes discoveries emerging from India, evolving therapeutic algorithms, and updated guidance for safe travel in people living with diabetes. Signature formats such as Meet the Connoisseurs, Master’s Voice, Clinical Case Forums, and Competitive Research Debates offered a dynamic platform for interdisciplinary exchange and thought leadership.
Jothydev’s Diabetes Research Center had a distinguished presence at the event, with meaningful scientific talks delivered by Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev, Dr. Krishnadev Jothydev, Dr. Arun Shankar, and Ms. Geethu Sanal (Dietitian). Their contributions strengthened dialogue around digital therapeutics, clinical practice transformation, and nutrition-driven metabolic care reinforcing JDC’s active leadership in advancing patient-centred diabetes management and scientific innovation. RSSDI 2025 not only strengthened Kerala’s role in shaping the future of diabetes care but also advanced the conference’s mission, moving beyond extending lifespan to improving quality of life, marking a defining moment in reshaping diabetes research, policy, and clinical practice in India.
