- World Diabetes Day Scientific Session on SMBG

As part of World Diabetes Day activities, Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev delivered an impactful scientific session emphasizing the essential role of structured self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG) in effective diabetes care. He highlighted a key message:
“Whatever be the treatment or stage of diabetes, if a structured home glucose monitoring protocol is not followed, diabetes management will eventually fail.”
The session also featured global expert Dr. Elizabeth Holt (USA), with discussions centred on how systematic glucose monitoring can prevent complications, guide therapy decisions, and improve long-term outcomes. Special appreciation was extended to Virendra, Dr. Pratibha Karnad, and the organising team for coordinating a meaningful and timely educational programme aligned with World Diabetes Day goals.
