Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev, in collaboration with senior obesity experts and healthcare professionals from both public and private sectors across India, participated in a roundtable in September 2024 to discuss the cornerstones of obesity management in India. The discussions focused on the rising prevalence of obesity, its clinical and socioeconomic impact, and strategies to address it as both a public health priority and a chronic disease. These insights were consolidated into a manuscript, now published as a whitepaper in International Journal of Clinical Obesity, the official journal of the World Obesity Federation. The publication emphasizes coordinated action across healthcare systems, policymakers, and community stakeholders, highlighting the need for early detection, structured care pathways, and evidence-based management.
