A very comprehensive diabetes detection, education and treatment program was jointly organised by Kakkad primary health centre, local committee and P.Kesavadev Trust. More than 1000 participants actively involved in the program. Diabscreen team member Dr.Shabeer A.Rasheed was the camp director. The program was inaugurated by Sri.Vaidyabhushan K.Raghavan Thirumulppad. Prof.Savithri Lakshmanan MLA and Shri.T.U.Radhakrishnan MLA were the chairperson and chief guest respectively.

Dr.Vijayan Panampilly was the chairman of the organising committee. Local committee members K.N.Venu, K.M Anil Kumar, R.Sathi Devi etc were present. Late in the evening Chalakudy circle inspector Shri.K.S Sudarshanan, flagged of an awareness rally on diabetes. Kalamandalam Vice Chairman Dr.T.A Radhakrishnan in his speech requested the Diabscreen team to make follow up visits considering the fact that there are a good majority of seriously ill diabetic patients in that area.

Diabscreen Trichur team included Dr.Jothydev, Sunitha Jothydev, Dr. Shabeer.A.Rasheed, Dr.Sreeni (Chaitanya Eye Hospital, Kochi), Pradeep Kannammoola and Jayasree Lally.

Smt.Savithri Lakshman MLA (member of the legislative assembly, Govt of Kerala) complimented Diabscreen team for its humanitarian activities at various districts in the state of Kerala. She recalled the works and reforms of the great P.Kesavadev and aims and objectives of the Diabscreen Kerala, a project of P.Kesavadev Trust that is providing yeomen service to the poor and the disabled.
