The 72nd Scientific Sessions of American Diabetes Association (ADA) which took place at Pennsylvania Convention Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA from 8-12 June discussed the latest cutting the edge research in the field of diabetes. The convention attracted more than 13,000 researchers, doctors and paramedics from all over the world to share the latest research findings in the field of diabetes. This year�s Banting lecture by Dr. Bruce.M.Spiegelman on �Transcriptional Control of Adipogenesis- Toward a new generation of therapeutics for metabolic disease� ushered in a new therapeutic option through the discovery of beige adipose tissue and Irisin, a hormone which regulates glucose metabolism. The sessions also discussed landmark trials like the Origin trial, Today study, Aspire study to name a few. The sessions were also marked by product theatres, exhibit booths, meet the expert sessions and corporate symposia. The research presentations from Jothydev�s Diabetes & Research Centers were presented in the sessions. Yet another research article �Efficacy and Safety of Liraglutide in 195 Patients with Type 2 Diabetes in India: A Retrospective Analysis �shows the statistically significant reductions in glycemic and other parameters with Liraglutide therapy. The research team from Jothydev�s Diabetes& Reearch Center presented the research papers in the 5 days convention.
