Diabscreen Kerala free diabetes screening, awareness and treatment camp was conducted by P. Kesavadev Trust in association with Vivekananda Sardha Sathi Aghosha Samithi, Bharatannoor, Palode on 9 Mar 2013, Trivandrum. Anthropometric measurements and blood test including post prandial blood glucose tests were also performed. Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev educated the crowd on the importance of starting insulin early in the treatment of diabetes and the importance of self monitoring of blood glucose and titration of drug dosages for diabetes management. Ms. Greeshma Mohan, Dietitian, JDC1 spoke on the need for healthy food habits and lifestyle modifications in diabetes. Insulin injection techniques and glucometer use were reinforced by Ms. Gopika Krishnan. More than 80 patients attended the camp and availed free medical advice and medications. Ms. Bindhu Raj led the diabetes educators� team. The camp was coordinated by Mr. Muraleedharan and the camp was inaugurated by the members and volunteers of the Samithi. R. Deepa, Higher secondary school teacher, gave felicitations. Mr. Vinu Krishnan co-ordinated the camp.
