Diabscreen Kerala free diabetes awareness, detection and treatment camp was organized by P.Kesavadev Trust and Varkala North Residence Association at Varkala on 28 Sep 2014. The camp had more than 80 participants and anthropometric measurements and lab tests were performed. Dr. Arun Shankar lectured on ways to prevent diabetes and effective management of diabetes with early insulin injections to prevent complications. Remya Iyer, dietitian lectured on the diet to be followed in diabetes. The multidisciplinary team including diabetes educators and research coordinators were also part of the treatment team. Free consultation and medicines were also provided.
