Diabscreen Kerala is a major diabetes awareness project of P.Kesavadev Trust. The Diabscreen Kerala team, headed by Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev, conducts diabetes awareness, prevention, and treatment programs at various geographical locations in collaboration with regional organizations.
An initiative by P.Kesavadev Trust.
Every year, as a part of the World Diabetes Day and Word Diabetes Month programmes and activities, many historical monuments as well as buildings of public interest are lit in blue, all across the globe. Attingal CSI Mission hospital, founded by Dr.Fels from London Missionary Society, is a 113-year-old building complex with much historical importance. Today, a palliative care centre and Jothydevs Diabetes Centre functions in the hospital complex. Diabetes while remains a silent disease, can affect almost all the major organs systems of the body leading to life-threatening complications. International Diabetes Federation has selected The Family and Diabetes as the theme for World Diabetes Day 2018-19. The main aim of this theme is to raise awareness of the impact that diabetes has on the family and support network of those affected. It also aims to promote the role of the family in the management, care, prevention and education of diabetes. During the day-long World Diabetes Day awareness programmes and activities conducted at the Attingal Wing of Jothydevs Diabetes Centre, Dr. Ashwin David, Centre Head, stressed on the need and importance of family support in diabetes management.
