Dr Jothydev was the guest speaker at Indian Medical Association at Pathanamthitta; Secretary Dr GiGi Joseph and President Dr George Chacko. More than 60 doctors actively participated in the CME programme. Dr Jothydev spoke on new ADA 2006 guidelines and practical guidance to the choice of oral agents in the management of diabetes.
Estimation of A1c is absolutely essential for preventing long-term complications of diabetes. If the patient is highly motivated and under close follow-up, even A1c below 6% can be the target in individual patients.
