Diabscreen Kerala is a project of P.Kesavadev Trust aimed at generating awareness among the students in high schools and colleges on healthy life styles. Epidemiological studies have predicted that Kerala will be the epicentre of a major Diabetic Epidemic within the next 25yrs.



This time we were organizing the Diabscreen programme at St. Mary’s School, Pattom, Trivandrum on July 24, 2004 at 11.50 am. Dr. B.Ekbal former Vice Chancellor inaugurated the function. Dr.Jothydev delivered a lecture on healthy life styles, preventing life style illnesses like Diabetes, Heart Attacks, Strokes and how to prepare for a healthy old age.



The 30 mts presentation (Laptop and LCD Projector) included topics on healthy foods, exercise, etiology of diabetes and Heart attacks, Prevention of obesity and the hazards of smoking.



This project of P.Kesavadev Trust is being carried out at various educational institutions in Kerala with the hope of preventing the progression of life style illnesses which are posing a major threat to the health and economy of our country.

The presentation was followed by an interactivesession where children asked so many questions about their parents' illnesses, healthy diet, exercises etc etc.
