Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev lectured on ‘Intensive Control of Diabetes in Foot Disease with emphasis on role of Insulin pumps’ on the second day at the 10th Annual Meeting of Diabetic Foot Society of India(DFSI) held at the Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA) Convention Centre, Ahmedabad, Gujarat from 7-9 Oct 2011. Dr. Jothydev emphasized on the need of the expertise of a multidisciplinary team for the common man to benefit from the technological advancements in diabetes foot and intensive glycemic management. In his half an hour lecture, Dr. Jothydev elaborated on the existing and emerging pumps and CGM devices and how combining the new generation of rapid acting insulins with new generation insulin pumps offers an opportunity for the ‘diabetes foot care treating team’ to deliver the right amount of insulin with as many variable basal profiles as possible resulting in rapid wound healing and shorter hospital stays. The meeting was packed with preconference CMEs,orations,plenary sessions,workshops etc. Many national and international experts in the field of Diabetic Foot including Mr.Anthony Iorio, Mr. Christopher Attinger etc. lectured at various sessions. Dr. Ashok Kumar Das, President, DFSI and Dr. Bashi Saboo Chairman, DFSI organized the DFSICON 2011.
