The All India Association for Advancing Research in Obesity (AIAARO) Jothydev’s Professional Education Forum (JPEF) Mini CME was conducted on 19th March 2024 at Hotel Residency Towers, Trivandrum. The program was inaugurated by Dr.B M Makkar, Honorary Secretary, AIAARO. The scientific sessions began with the symposium on ‘CaReMe Approach-A changing perspective for organ protection’. Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev was the moderator for the session. The topics for the session included; ‘Why cardio-renal metabolic (CaReMe) approach?’ by Dr.Jothydev, ‘What are the current guidelines recommendations managing this CKD and HF in T2D Patients?’ by Dr.Praveen S V (Interventional Cardiologist, KIMS Health, Trivandrum), the ‘Role of Dapagliflozin in CaReMe @ primary prevention’ by Dr.Aneesh Ghosh (Endocrinologist, Ananthapuri hospitals & research institute, Trivandrum). Dr.Arun Shankar (Medical Director, JDC) presented his talk on Optimising outcomes with the world’s first oral GLP-1 RA.

The AIAARO Panel Discussion on ‘Let’s talk about obesity’ was organized, were expert panelists; Dr.Benny PV (Professor & HOD, Department of Community Medicine Sree Gokulam Medical College, Trivandrum), Dr.Anand Pillai (Interventional Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist, Ananthapuri Hospitals and Research Institute, Trivandrum), Dr.Sumesh Raj (Professor, General medicine, Sree Gokulam Medical College, Trivandrum), and Dr.Jothydev joined the discussion. Ms.Gopika Krishnan (Director of Academics and Research) was the moderator for the session. The Hybrid General Body meeting of AIAARO was also conducted towards the end of the CME.
