Diabscreen Kerala is a major diabetes awareness project of P.Kesavadev Trust. The Diabscreen Kerala team, headed by Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev, conducts diabetes awareness, prevention, and treatment programs at various geographical locations in collaboration with regional organizations.
An initiative by P.Kesavadev Trust.

Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev led a pivotal session at the FINE (Finerenone International Speaker Exchange) Summit, held on August 21, 2025, at Hyatt Regency, Trivandrum. His talk, titled “CKD in T2D: Importance of Early Diagnosis and Intervention,” addressed the growing burden of cardiovascular and kidney disease in people with type 2 diabetes, emphasizing the need for early detection and guideline-directed therapy. Emphasis was placed on the synergistic use of Kerendia (finerenone), Semaglutide, ARBs, and SGLT2 inhibitors, each targeting unique hemodynamic, metabolic, and inflammatory pathways to reduce long-term complications.
A major highlight of the session was the lecture by internationally renowned nephrologist Dr. Rajiv Agarwal (USA), original researcher of landmark trials including CREDENCE, FIDELIO, and CONFIDENCE, who detailed how Finerenone provides targeted protection against cardiac and renal fibrosis—distinguishing it from conventional mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists like spironolactone.
The session was expertly moderated by Dr. Tiny Nair, with critical insights from Dr. Mathew John and Dr. Praveen Muralidharan, fostering a dynamic exchange that resonated with the diverse and engaged audience. The event stood out as a model of multidisciplinary learning, collaboration, and evidence-based practice in modern diabetes care.
