Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev delivered one hour lecture to a highly motivated and enthusiastic crowd on 'Lifestyle diseases/Diabetes' at the State Bank of Travancore, ABOA Association Hall in an evening session on 15th of Sep. The lecture touched upon the economic burden caused by diabetes and co-morbid illnesses and the need for executive check ups in an office going population. The lecture included tips on lifestyle and exercise modifications to be made and importance of newer drugs in controlling dibetes. Diabetes Questionnaire were administered and blood glucose, blood pressure and waist circumference were monitored and correlated. The lecture was followed by a question answer session that extended half an hour, common questions being role of insulin in type 2 diabetes, thyroid diseases and its consequences etc. The lecture was organized by the State Bank employees association, TRABOC.Mr. P.V.Sivasankara Pillai(All India Gen. Sec. ABOA; President, TRABOC) welcomed the gathering. Mr.P.T.Muralidharan (Sec. TRABOC), Mr. Jaganathan(Treasurer, TRABOC) & Mr. Rajkumar (President, ABOA, SBT unit) gave felicitations.
